Communications Specialist position is in the Office of the
Assistant Director in the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and
Economic (SBE) at the National Science Foundation.
SBE Sciences support basic research on people and society with a
focus on human behavior and social organizations and how social,
economic, political, cultural, and environmental forces affect
quality of life.
The incumbent for this position will be responsible for
developing and implementing strategic communication plans for
internal and external communities, helping SBE senior managers
identify and conceptualize ideas and materials necessary to ensure
that goals and messages regarding SBE objectives and initiatives
are conveyed to interested parties. The Communications Specialist
will also be responsible for preparing a variety of oral, written
and on-line materials regarding SBE activities and initiatives to
be used by SBE leadership during meetings and public appearances.
Additionally, the Communications Specialist will network and
develop partnerships necessary to ensure effective communication
about SBE’s activities and value.
